Trudeau’s steel tour

First Published:

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau began a cross-country tour of aluminium and steel factories on Monday. The move follows fears that even though President Trump sparred Canada of the steel tariffs, job losses are still a possibility.

We are hearing from the Prime Ministers office that he will begin his day on Tuesday touring Stelco, then he’s off to the Sheraton for a round table discussion with steel company and union representatives before his final stop at Dofasco.

What Trudeau will find here in Hamilton is that steelworkers have a lot of questions and are counting on the Prime Minister to come up with a solid plan to help with the uncertainty of the steel industry.

Following Trudeau’s visit to Hamilton, he will complete his tour with two more stops in Sault Ste. Marie and Regina.
