It’s now been 100 days since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was sworn in as our 23rd Prime Minister. Today he took the time to reflect and to look forward.

Since his October election, Trudeau has introduced a gender-equal cabinet, put up a motion to lower taxes for the middle class and has vowed to stop airstrikes against ISIS before March.
But the big question is has he delivered? According to political scientist Nelson Wiseman, it’s still too soon.

“It’s a very artificial timeline. I think what’s happened is normal. There’s a honeymoon period after getting elected and it exists for everyone. Stephen Harper was just as popular after he was elected as Trudeau is right now.”

Wiseman says his biggest challenge will be to keep all his promises. While the last of the 25 000 Syrian refugees to be here by the end of the month, Trudeau still has many unchecked boxes on his list including managing the deep deficit that will be created by spending on those promises.
