Trio of thugs invaded wrong house: Police

First Published:

Halton police say a home invasion in Burlington early Thursday may have mistakenly targeted the wrong home.

Police and paramedics were called to a Claridge road home just after one am.  Four family members were asleep when three men broke in and threatened them with a handgun.

Sergeant Brian Carr says the father, in his 60s was punched and kicked.  “He’s got bruising and redness throughout.”

The son, in his 20s was also beaten.  He was taken to hospital for observation, then released. The other two were threatened but not hurt.  When the thugs didn’t find what they were looking for, they ran off.

Investigators expect to be on scene most of the day.

The three suspects are described as white males in their early twenties.  Anyone with information should contact police or Crime Stoppers.
