Torso found in Oshawa identified as missing 18-year-old woman

DNA tests have confirmed the identity of the torso found at the Oshawa lakefront in September.

Durham police the torso of a woman found floating in the water by a fisherman near the Oshawa Harbour on Sept. 11 is that of 18-year-old Rori Hache.

Hache was reported missing by her family and was last seen on August 29.

The torso showed significance signs of trauma and the cause of death is still unknown.

This is the eighth homicide of the year in Durham Region.

Investigators are hoping to speak with anyone who had contact with Hache prior to September 11 and are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 1-888-579-1520, ext 5407 or 5319.
