Three pets killed in house fire on Hamilton Mountain

Three pets are dead and a house has been badly damaged after a fire on Hamilton Mountain.

The fire broke out at the home on Lynbrook Dr. around 1 p.m. Wednesday and was quickly upgraded to multiple alarms.

According to fire officials, crews were able to put out the blaze before 2 p.m.

No one was home at the time but two dogs and a cat were inside and died from their injuries.

Officials say damage is estimated at $550,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been notified.
