Woman sexually assaulted on Hamilton trail in broad daylight

A woman was attacked on the Bruce Trail near the Kenilworth Access on Saturday morning.

Police said a man in his 20’s had a knife and approached 50 year old woman who was walking alone on the trail around 10:30 am.

The man forced her into a quiet area just off the trail and attempted to sexually assault her but she was able to escape.

The man is described as white, about 5’7″ and wore a navy blue hoodie and bandana over his face.

Police said these situations are rare on trail areas but when they happen officers take it very seriously. If you do see someone with the description police have listed, don’t approach them instead call police right away.

Hamilton Police said as a result of the incident they have increased patrols in the area.
