Homicide detectives are investigating after a 50 year old woman was found dead inside her Mississauga apartment Sunday night and police say the circumstances are suspicious.

“We got the call yesterday at 6:30 in relation to a female that had obvious signs of trauma.”

Neighbours say she lived in an apartment on Ceremonial Drive, on the 10th floor alone with her dog. There was blood inside the elevator, one neighbour saying her daughter noticed it three days ago.

“Friday she saw specs of blood in the lobby and then she also saw it on the elevator. It was repeated to me twice that people saw her in the lobby and that she just looked like she was hurt. That goes with what my daughter saw on Friday. ”

But police say that the last time the woman was seen alive was yesterday. Officers spent the day canvassing the building and looking for evidence. There is a security camera at the front entrance.

An autopsy is being preformed to determine the cause of death.
