Another blast of winter weather has hit our area as a freezing drizzle advisory is in effect for Hamilton, Halton, Brant, the Dunnville- Haldimand areas and the Niagara region, where a mixed bag of snow, sleet, ice pellets is creating havoc on the roads. Since the early afternoon, the OPP had already responded to 250 collisions across the golden horseshoe, that’s about one crash every minute.

James Kwinecki was driving on the QEW near Vineland when his car with 3 friends inside started to slide, “as soon as i hit the brakes I lost control.” A few kilometres down the road a young woman lost control and slammed into the concrete jersey barrier. Tow operators were racing from one call for help to another.
