Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, the sequel to 2005’s Sin City, is a noir crime thriller based on the Frank Miller’s graphic novel series and directed by Miller and Robert Rodriguez (Machete Kills). The film is a series of intertwining stories that follow some of the city’s vigilantes and crooked residents. Characters making return appearances for the sequel include the physically imposing Marv, vengeful exotic dancer Nancy, and chivalrous Dwight. The ensemble cast includes Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rosario Dawson, Bruce Willis, and Eva Green.

The fact that so many members of the original cast came back for a sequel almost a decade later speaks volumes about their respect for Rodriguez and Miller. Mickey Rourke goes to great lengths for his directors admitting “I don’t like sitting in the makeup chair for anymore than ten minutes but I’m stuck there for hour plus a half hour to get it off. But the big picture is, aside from the makeup stuff, it’s a pleasure to go to work. I really look forward to being on the set and working with a director that I love, that I have respect for, that I care about and I know that he feels that way about me, so I give him everything.”
