WATCH FOR A SNEAK PEEK:
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork are The Monkees, a struggling band in mid-1960s Los Angeles with a zany and nonconformist attitude. From their ramshackle beach house they venture forth to such varied locales as haunted houses, toy factories, ghost towns, gypsy camps, and circuses, as well as to Manhattan, Hollywood, Paris and Mexico. Our heroes sing, play and meet up with an assortment of characters from mayors and morticians to musclemen and hillbillies, from con men and mad scientists to sea captains and magicians. The fast-moving plots use the latest innovations of the time, including fast- and slow-motion, non-sequitorial cuts and new lighting techniques. The combination of uninhibited young talent, visual innovation and infectious music made The Monkees a landmark of its era.
