Sherman Access Repairs

First Published:

If you take the Sherman Access to and from work, you’ll need to find a different route.

The east leg of the access has been closed since last week, but as of next Monday afternoon, the west leg will be shut down as well for at least a month.

Crews are well up the rock face along the Sherman Access making sure rocks don’t fall onto the road.

A drapery mesh was installed last year, you can tell by the buildup of rocks and debris at the bottom that it worked.

The west leg portion is scheduled to be shut down until September 21st, but good weather could speed up the process.

All the projects come with a price tag of over a million dollars, and it’s part of an on-going maintenance plan for the city’s accesses.

Last year, the city rebuilt the retaining walls against the north face of the Sherman Cut, the ditching and re-surfacing will wrap up that project.
