Sex-ed protest

Some 200 people protested outside Queen’s Park today saying the new sex-ed curriculum is too much information for children who are too young. But there was also a show of support for the updated lessons both outside and inside the legislative chambers.

It started out small but busloads of people started piling into the Queen’s Park courtyard, mostly they were in opposition to yesterday’s sex ed update but there were also loud protestors in favour of the changes. Both sides had this in common: both said they just want to protect children

Unlike when Dalton Mcguinty was facing this opposition, there is no election looming on the horizon, and this isn’t a legislative change, so there won’t be a vote.  So we can expect this curriculum will be in place in September, the parents who are still opposed can keep their children out of class when sex ed is on the agenda.
