A serious crash has sent a one year old girl to hospital. It happened this afternoon on Haldimand Road 9 near 5th line, about ten minutes south of Caledonia.

Police say the woman driving the car appears to have lost control, rolling over several times and hitting a utility pole.  The 19-year-old mother was pulled from the car with minor injuries but her infant daughter was badly hurt and was rushed to McMaster Children’s Hospital.

Police say the child was properly strapped in but because of how the vehicle crashed she had serious injuries.

Haldimand Road 9 reopened around 9:30 pm.   No other vehicles were involved.
