Despite the valiant efforts of a group of six boys who attended in kilts and with red paint on their torsos, teams from Cardinal Newman Secondary School in Stoney Creek fell short in two games Monday.

In high school hockey, Cardinal Newman took on and fell short against Oakville’s Thomas A Blakelock in the Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference semifinal. The final score would be 2-1 for Blakelock, meaning they are moving on to the GHAC championship, set for Tuesday afternoon against Abbey Park.

Also, congratulations to the Georgetown district Rebels senior girls volleyball. They defeated Cardinal Newman in the triple-A final. Along with the championship, they are now headed to OFSAA.
