It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Not only with the weather, but also at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington.

“Glory to the Newborn King.”

It’s kicking off its annual Holiday Traditions, which celebrates the holiday season. This year, Santa has a new cabin which visitors will be able to get to by walking through the tunnel of lights, past the Candy Cane Garden. Earlier tonight, a large crowd gathered to see a very unique train set which RBG says help get people in touch with the natural world around them.

Nick Kondrat, RBG Manager of Communications: “This is one of the best botanical train sets you can find anywhere. It’s made entirely of botanical materials. We’re a botanical gardens so it fits us perfectly. It features landmarks from all across Canada, from the Maritimes all the way to the West Coast. 500 feet of track, 7,000 pounds of cedar went into this, 3,000 pounds of rock. The kids love it. And it’s just a part of many wonderful things that are going on at the RBG this holiday season.”

On select dates in December, visitors will be able to have breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus. And weekends will be filled with choirs, live entertainment, arts and crafts, and more. The holiday exhibition starts this Saturday and runs until January 4th
