(Video Update)
Construction will continue on Hamilton’s Queen Street Hill beyond the labour day weekend. That’s when public works staff had planned to have the work completed.
It’s now set to be finished in mid to late October.
Public works says the delay is not the fault of the contractor but rather the result of the unique characteristics of the escarpment cut and stabilization issues.
The presence of butternut trees also complicated matters as they are an endangered species.
