A Hamilton man drew quite a crowd to Juravinski hospital today to make a special plea to his longtime girlfriend. When the Cathedral High School glee club surrounded Melissa Christison in the hospital cafeteria she was overwhelmed. “Ii just started seeing friends and family and coworkers.” Then she saw her boyfriend, Robert Hooper. They’ve been together ten years, but never planned to marry. Last week, Melissa learned her breast cancer was back- and has spread to her liver, lungs and spine.

Doctors have told Melissa she may have two years to live. “No matter how much time we have together, I hope it’s for a very long time, but i would want to have no one other to be my wife than Melissa.” says Mr. Hooper.

Melissa is a huge fan of the TV show Glee, and said Robert’s proposal couldn’t have been more perfect. They are getting married a month today.
