Police search for multiple vehicles in Musitano murder

First Published:

Hamilton Police are looking for multiple vehicles in connection with the murder of known mobster Angelo Musitano.

Musitano was found with gunshot wounds inside his vehicle in the driveway of his Waterdown home in the afternoon of May 2.

In the days after the murder, police recovered a burgundy Ford Fusion, which was seen leaving the scene.

In a news conference Thursday morning, police revealed that it appears more than one person was stalking Musitano in the days leading up to his death.

After reviewing “thousands of hours” of video, they are looking for three other vehicles including a black Honda Civic they believe was used by the killer.

“We know the killer left in the Fusion, we know he abandoned the vehicle in the Braeheid area of Waterdown,” said Det. Sgt. Peter Thom.

“We’re not sure at this point which vehicle he may have taken off in after that point, but we do know that he was operating the black Honda Civic at some point before the murder took place.”

Police are also searching for a red Chevrolet Malibu, which was seen in the area in the days leading up to the murder and appeared to be watching the home on two separate occasions.

The third vehicle is said to be a grey or blue Infiniti sedan, which was seen interacting with the burgundy Ford Fusion in the days prior to the murder.

Police say anyone in the GTHA who owned a 2006 to 2011 black, two-door Honda Civic at the time of the murder can expect a visit from officers.

“We’re going to have a narrow net to start in the Hamilton and GTHA area and then we’re going to expand outwards after that, ” said Thom.

The suspect is described as a white male with an athletic build, wearing a black toque, black jacket and grey pants.

Police also said the family is not cooperating with the investigation, directing investigators to speak with their lawyer.

Musitano was a member of Hamilton’s crime family.

Following his murder, Musitano’s brother Pat Musitano’s Hamilton home was shot up.

His father, Domenic Musitano, was a well-known mafia boss in the city.
