Waterdown man arrested after stabbing outside The Poacher

First Published:

Halton Police say they have arrested a Waterdown man in connection to a stabbing at a pub in Burlington.

Police say 23 year-old Daniel Richard Flenniken was located and arrested. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.

He has been released from custody but will be back in court on July 4th.

Police were called to The Poacher Pub on Pearl Street in Burlington around 2 am because of two men fighting outside of the bar.

When they arrived they found a 22 year old man with what appeared to be a minor stab wound. It’s unclear what he was stabbed with.

He was taken to the Hamilton General Hospital, where it turned out the stab wound was more serious than they initially thought because it caused one of his lungs to partially collapse. He is in stable condition now.

Police say both men are known to each other and known to police.
