Peel Regional Police are warning the public about a man impersonating an officer in Mississauga.

Officers were called to a home near Confederation Pkwy and Huntington Ridge Dr. Thursday afternoon.

The homeowner told police a man tried to get into the house by saying he worked for the government and flashing a fake police badge.

That man is described as white, about 5’8” with black hair and a black jacket.

Peel Police say if anyone comes in contact with an officer who is not in uniform and not driving a fully marked cruiser, you can call police to verify their identity.
