Hamilton police are investigating two violent attacks from in the early hours of Saturday morning. In both cases, victims were chased, beaten and robbed. The first attack happened just after midnight in the east end of the city. The second happened just after 1:30am near Limeridge Road East and Upper Sherman Avenue.

The first attack saw three men jump out of an orange car and attack an 18-year old teen with a metal bat. He was leaving a friend’s house and heading home. 90 minutes later, a man wearing head phones was attacked by four men from behind on the mountain and seriously injured. Police have not definitively linked the two assaults.

18-year old Aleck doesn’t want to be identified, for fear of retaliation by his attackers. When he was assaulted, his karate training instinctively told him to protect his head: “Another two guys came, full bandana, face mask and a hoodie on the guy who had the baseball bat. Then he started to hit me. The last guy he tried to kick me but I completely blocked it.”

His father Bob credits his martial arts training for his relatively minor injuries: “He got a sprained wrist — he got hit in the liver, the side and then the legs.”

“A man nearby saw the car with the assailants in it driving slowly and thought it was rather strange. He also noticed when three men jumped out of the car and started to attack Aleck. He immediately called 911 and ran towards the scene to help.

Chris was a witness: “To be jumped by three people isn’t fun. He was running towards me. He didn’t look that beat up per se. He handled himself quite well running towards me. I’m totally relieved, so glad. sorry for guy up the mountain that got hit in the head.”

90 minutes after the first assault, a man was attacked on the mountain. When he refused to hand over his belongings, he was hit with a weapon and suffered deep bruises to the leg, facial fractures and deep lacerations to the head.

Bleeding from the assault he tried to get home, and a couple walking their dog here in Rushdale Park came to his aid.

The suspects are described as:

suspect 1: male, Caucasian, 59 tall, 25-years old, blonde.
suspect 2: male, white, 20-30 years old.
suspect 3:male, white, 20-30 years old.

The suspects were driving an orange four-door vehicle. Police are asking any one with information to call Hamilton police division three.
