Police investigate armed robbery at Oakville gas station

Halton police are investigating after a gas station in Oakville was robbed at knifepoint early Wednesday.

It happened around 2 a.m. at the Petro Canada near Third Line and North Service Rd.

A man armed with a knife walked into the kiosk and stole an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes before fleeing through the parking lot.

Police say the gas station employee was shaken but not physically injured during the robbery.

Halton police officers and members of the K9 unit searched the area but could not locate the man.

He is described as Caucasian, 20 to 30 years old and was wearing a dark blue winter parka, black hooded sweater, khaki pants, blue shirt, black gloves, and a black baseball cap. The thief was also carrying a dark blue Adidas gym bag.
