Mississauga boy found safe

(Updated) An 8-year-old boy from Mississauga has been found safe after an Amber alert was issued this morning.

York Police found Matthew Zhang near a car that fit a description that had been provided. There is no word on any charges.

Zhang had last been seen by his father Sunday morning when he was dropped off on Mississauga Valley Boulevard to visit his mother, Wei Chen. She later refused to return Zhang.

Police said Chen does not have custody and is not able to properly care for her son.

Police continue to investigate.
