Peel police find gun in glove compartment during traffic stop

Two men have been arrested after Peel police seized a loaded pistol from the glove compartment of a vehicle during a traffic stop.

Police say they the vehicle was being investigated for a traffic violation in the area of Airport Rd. and the Highway 409 in Mississauga on Sunday.

During the investigation, police found a black 9 mm pistol in the front compartment of the vehicle.

Musaf Yusuf, 23, and Ahmed Abukar, 21, are facing several charges including carrying concealed weapon, and occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm.

Both men were scheduled for a bail hearing in Brampton on Sunday.
