Pedestrian struck near McMaster

An elderly man is in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle near McMaster University.

Around 7:30 a.m. Friday, two male pedestrians were crossing University ave inside the crosswalk when they were struck by a BMW car.

A 58 year old man suffered only minor injuries but the other male, 72 years old, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 60 year old male driver remained on scene.

Police are investigating but do not think speed or alcohol were factors in the collision, however police are considering environmental conditions.

It’s unclear if charges will be laid.
