OPP search for ‘quick change’ artist in Huntsville

The Ontario Provincial Police have released an image of a man they allege performed a “quick change” and stole money from a cashier in Hunstville, Ont.

Police say a man purchased a small amount of groceries at the Metro on King William St. on January 5.

He asked the cashier to change several large bills into smaller ones. After he received the small bills, he allegedly slid money up his sleeve before returning the rest of the cash to the cashier and saying he wanted his money back.

The cashier noticed the till was out some money at the end of the day and looked back at surveillance video that confirmed the money was stolen.

The suspect is described as a white man, with black hair, black facial hair, and was wearing a grey jacket and hooded sweater.

Police are reminding employees to be aware of “quick change” artists.

Anyone with any information about this crime is asked to contact Huntsville OPP or Crime Stoppers.
