Not on our turf

As the Hamilton Ticats gear up for their home game against the Roughriders tomorrow, a billboard across from Tim Hortons’ Field is getting a lot of attention. The billboard posted at Sherman and Cannon promotes tomorrow’s big game, but here’s the catch- it isn’t a call for Ticat fans, rather a call for Roughrider supporters.

East end residents aren’t happy to see the Saskatchewan team colors on Ticat territory. While the Roughriders say the billboard is a call for their fans, Ticat players say it’ll have the opposite effect and pump up the home crowd.

This isn’t the first jab of its kind from the Riders. There poster was posted in the hometown of the BC Lions and one ahead of a game against the Edmonton Eskimos earlier this summer.

About 130 tickets are still available for purchase online or at the venue for tomorrows game. Kick off is at the 7pm.
