Norfolk County fatal

On Thursday, March 3 just before 10pm, OPP and other emergency services responded to a single motor vehicle collision.

Investigation has determined that a red coloured pick-up truck was travelling westbound on Windham road 9, when the driver lost control and entered a field located on the north side of the roadway causing the vehicle to roll over.

A 20 year old male passenger from Norfolk County, was ejected from the truck and was taken to a local area hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The driver, 26 year old Theresa Diane Lausch of Norfolk County, was partially ejected from the vehicle and suffered life threatening injuries.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators are assisting with the investigation.

Speed, alcohol and failure to wear seat belt are being considered as a contributing factor in this collision.

Windham Road 9 was closed between Windham East Quarter Line Road and Nixon Road for approximately 4 hours to allow for police investigation.
