No animals hurt in fire at Burlington animal hospital

First Published:

An animal hospital in Burlington will remain closed Tuesday after a fire broke out in the basement.

Burlington firefighters were called to Askey Animal Hospital on Fairview St. around 8 p.m. Monday.

Officials say no animals or employees were injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined but it is not considered suspicious.

All animals in the care of the hospital have been relocated to other facilities in the area.

Staff posted a sign in the window stating the business will be closed for the remainder of the day “due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control.”
