Niagara-on-the-Lake picturesque in snow

While Hamilton and Halton are dealing with manageable levels of snow from Thursday’s storm, residents in Niagara Region, particularly by the lake, are still digging themselves out.

Fresh fallen snow couldn’t look any better than right here in historic Niagara-on-the-Lake. According to Environment Canada, the area by the lake got about 20cm of snow thanks to the lake effect blowing snow throughout the area. The hardest hit area was the southern parts of St. Catharines. They received the most snow in Southern Ontario with 30.5cm of snow. But here in Niagara on the Lake. It’s totally quiet but I was able to find. A food truck!

That’s right. A food truck in the middle of an empty street. They were actually here for an event but the duo, who are from Hamilton, had quite the adventure getting here in the middle of the storm. And they weren’t alone.

“(It took) two hours and 15 minutes. We were going 20 to 25 miles per hour (32-40 kph) all the way home.”

“The plane had left so we had to get another ticket to get out. She sat on the tarmac for about 2 hours. The plane got stuck in snow, finally got it out. She was flying out to Edmonton to be with our daughter and grandkids. So she arrived safely which is good but the drive there and back was a little crazy.”

“I love it. I’m a snowmobiler, an ice fisherman, it doesn’t bother me. Keep snowing baby!”
