Next century game

100 years ago today, the Toronto Arenas played their very first NHL hockey game. Though they lost 10-9 to the Montreal Wanderers, the Arenas would go on to win their first Stanley Cup that year.

The Arenas would later become the Maple Leafs, the current squad played against the Carolina Hurricanes this afternoon, in what was dubbed the “next century game.”

Adam Atkinson has the details.
