In Caledonia tonight, there are mounting tensions on the Six Nations reserve over a deal reached with native leaders and Samsung over a project that would see wind turbines built on the land.
As a protest, members of the Six Nations confederacy shut down construction of a water treatment plant on Pauline Johnson Road just north of Highway 54. There were about two dozen protestors who told workers to head home for the weekend. The protestors then locked the gates and left flags marking their action. They were also protesting an event on Monday in which they say Ontario police were used by their own leaders to disrupt another protest of an archeological site.
The protestors are expected to return on Monday.
