At least 13 people are dead after a duck boat carrying tourists on a Missouri lake capsized and sank.

Officials say the boat was carrying 31 people when it capsized Thursday night on Table Rock Lake.

An off-duty sheriff’s deputy working security helped rescue people from the water.

Of the 14 people who survived, seven are injured.

Those who died ranged in age from one to 70 years old

Missouri State Highway Patrol say four other people are still unaccounted for.

Stormy weather is believed to be what caused the Ride the Ducks boat to capsize.

There was a severe thunderstorm warning in the area at the time with wind speeds reaching about 100 kilometres an hour.
