It seems likely Prime Minister Stephen Harper will call an election as early as Sunday.

Election day is set for October 19th and the Prime Minister says that’s a firm date.

Campaigning more than 11 weeks before voting will make it the longest campaign since the 1920’s.

The Tories are busy making funding announcements before it’s too late.

Once the writ is dropped the government can’t make anymore funding announcements.

There are 338 seats up for grabs. The Tories and the Liberals have about 90 percent of their candidates nominated. The NDP stands at about 80.
