Hamilton band Thought Beneath Film hosted a charity event at their old high school today to raise money for music education in Canada.

The band performed their newest single “Sixty-six” at Orchard Park Secondary School in Stoney Creek. Students filled the cafeteria to enjoy the impromptu charity event.

The band’s partnered with MusiCounts, a Canadian charity focused on music education. Lead singer Brent Wirth says they hope to raise awareness on the importance of music.

“Basically what we’re trying to do is raise awareness and promote a charity which is essentially trying to perpetuate music education throughout Canada and make sure that music programs and instruments are available to every child across the country.”

Wirth said 100 per cent of the money generated from online sales of the single “Sixty-six” will go straight to MusiCounts.
