Six days after a Mississauga father took his two kids to the movies, police have confirmed that it was their burned remains found in a car near Barrie.
Samuel Masih, 36, lived with his wife, her mother and their two children, Santosh and Tyrese.
It had been quiet at the home until about 10 p.m. That’s when a candlelight vigil was held Wednesday night with upwards of 40 family and friends to remember the father Samuel and two young sons. The crowd included teachers of the two boys, as well as co-workers, colleagues and people in the neighbourhood.
The incident all began Friday morning when the husband and two boys were reported missing by Samuel’s wife. He had told her that he would be going to a movie but they never returned home.
At about 5:40 a.m., Friday police received a call about a vehicle fire in Barrie. The bodies of the three were found in the car when police arrived.
Neighbours are reeling from the news. There are still people gathered outside the house at this hour. The OPP are not looking for any suspect but are asking for the public’s assistance with this investigation.
