McMaster doctor receives top honour

A doctor from McMaster University has been named to the 2014 Canadian Medical Hall of Fame.

Doctor Salim Yusuf is one of six visionary health leaders on the list. He’s credited with transforming prevention and treatment for cardiovascular disease.

Yusuf holds many titles, including Professor of Medicine at the Degroote School of Medicine at McMaster, and Vice President of research at Hamilton Health Sciences.

Yusuf is also the President Elect of the World Heart Federation. Doctor Ronald Worton from Oakville is also an inductee for discovering the gene for duchenne muscular dystrophy.
