The senior executive officer of the Wilfrid Laurier University campus in Brantford says about 60,000 new post-secondary spaces are needed in the Greater Toronto Area over the next few years, and the Brantford campus along with a proposed campus in Milton will provide some of those spaces.

Brian Rosborough says the population of about 3,000 students at Laurier’s Brantford campus is projected to grow to about 15,000 over 10 to 15 years. The town of Milton has agreed to transfer 150 acres of land near the Niagara Escarpment valued at about $50 million dollars to the university.

The Milton campus will initially support about 2,500 students and grow to an additional 15,000.
