The Tony award-winning musical Kinky Boots is making its Canadian debut at The Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto and it stars a pair of stilettos that would be the envy of any catwalk.

With a score penned by pop icon Cyndi Lauper and a message of acceptance, “Kinky Boots” is a show that aims to please the entire family.

Kinky Boots star Alan Mingo Jr. is already practicing walking around in his 5 inch stilettos.

The plot focuses on Charlie, a man who reluctantly takes over his father’s nearly bankrupt shoe factory. There meets Mingo’s characterLola, a drag queen cabaret performer who inspires Charlie to create a new line of footwear.

Performances begin June 16th at The Royal Alexandra Theatre.

Tickets are on sale through September 27th.
