One week from tonight, Canadian comedy troup ‘The Kids in the Hall’ will be performing in Hamilton for the first time in 13 years. Sitting down with all 5 cast members, they say they’re going to take care of business when they come to town. “It’s right on the tour schedule. Take care of business in the Hammer.” Says cast member Bruce McCulloch.

They’re the troup that defined Canadian comedy in the 1990’s, but the stars are firm in their belief in their new tour. “I’d give it a B-” says Bruce. “By the time the show hits we’ll be at an A- and then maybe during the show we’ll be at an A or an H.”

With famous sketches like, Head Crusher and the Chicken Lady, cast members Bruce McCulluch, Mark McKinney, Kevin McDonald, Dave Foley and Scott Thompson were recently ranked number 8 in Rolling Stone’s 40 best comedy TV shows of all time.

For this tour, their first since 2008, they’ll bring back some old favourites, but when asked about their favourite material to perform, the answer was a little surprising. “I like doing the new stuff that’s not quite figured out so it’s a little bit of a gamble when you’re stepping on stage, because the reward, if you get it, it’s fantastic, and if you don’t then we’re like why didn’t we know that better?'” says McKinney.

And though Hamilton hasn’t seen the group since 2002, the group is eager to rekindle their relationship with the city next week.
