John Tavares signs a $77 million deal with the Leafs

For the past week John Tavares, a top 10 player in the NHL who is only 27 years old, was deciding his future and what team he wanted to play for.

Tavares listened to six teams, including the New York Islanders who he’s played for for nine season and his home town team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, but ultimately he ended up with the Leafs. Tavares signed a seven year deal worth $77 million

The five-time all-star centre went first overall in the 2009 draft.
