Does anyone know how many of these towers are actually going up in city limits? I am concerned with all this talk about transmitter danger but the truth is that I AM A CELL PHONE USER and because of that I don't want to be one of these DO GOODERS who wander the city and county looking for issues to stand against all in the name of MY HEALTH and OUR ENVIRONMENT. I know that I have to take some responsibility in what I do and how that affects my (our) world and so this issue has come close enough for me to actually consider giving up my cell. I can not and will not by a hypocrite and fight the man that provides the service I subscribe to. I would be curious to know how many people who are attending this fight are actually cell phone holders?
I am really looking for honest answers here and for honest people to stand up against this if in fact it is as bad as what I am hearing. I myself am going to be watching and listening for those people and IF I decide to join this fight I will NOT BE A HYPOCRITE. I simply will NOT EVER own a cell phone nor willingly subscribe to a service that I believe is harmful to my neighbours.

Please, the ignorance here is astounding. Diabetes from cell signals, really?
This is coming from people who have no science background.
Please, ignorance is not a reason to fear things. Come to McMaster and take a few courses on how to properly interpret scientific findings.
I am a resident of this community with a 2 yr old and a newborn baby. If there is any adverse risk to children posed by the commercial use of the tower than it is irresponsible for the town to allow this to go forward and put residents at risk. I would also like to point out that there is a DAYCARE CENTRE located directly beside the tower. Seedlings Children's Centre is located directly beside the firehall, the playground being about 100 feet from the tower itself. I wonder if the town is aware of this and if the safety, health and well being of the children who attend this centre will be brought up at the March 1st meeting. I would like to hear what our councillors have to say about this and if they had children who attended this centre, would they still approve the commercial use of the tower?
Cell phone towers are dangerous and should be removed not installed. I am speaking from experience of living near a tower which has left me with hypersensitivity to electromagnetic fields. Not Nice!!
I'm happy that you notice the cell tower. Only reason you did cause of the design what people do not know there are towers all over residential areas. They Look like large fat flag poles with a big flag on it that is also a cell tower just like the one up of the Linc at Village Green shopping centre .. Cell towers come looking like pine trees - don't believe me, look online. They're all over our community and we just don't notice. They are finding many ways to hide them from people noticing them.. and I think that's wrong. There are dangers and I support you for this removal of the tower.
Another dirty backdoor decision, approved by Oakville Mayor Rob Burton. Money and corporations trump the well-being of taxpayers and children. Shame on you Burton. Tricked us once, tricked us twice... looks like maybe a third time too.

Shame on Bell for going behind the residents backs putting up these transmitters.
