I don't think this whole extreme couponing thing is fair, every good thing that is on sale is gone as soon as the store opens. People like the "queen" lol clear the shelves & steal every single coupon the stores put out!!!! Not real fair to the average joe that works, runs kids to sports & other real life things that come before shopping!! It sure would be nice to go to a store and actually see some sale items left & maybe a coupon or 2 instead of just empty shelves & coupon pads.
I would just like to post that the lady who does her couponing in simcoe is a very genuine person and takes time out of her life to teach people how to save money when they do not have the time to sit down and read all the information and searching for them selfs....if you choose not to pay to learn then awesome good for you that means you have time to learn yourself....some people need help to find out where to start....Kelly does all of the stuff that she does to support her family and help others in the community ...It's a tough society and i know for myself i need to save when i can...so if i can get 20 bottles of mustard i am going to get 20 bottles of mustard!!!
I just started couponing, and I am getting the hang of it, and Kelly you helped out a lot. I was glad to be a part of your very first ever class even though there were only like 6 of us there! Great job and you're a great teacher! Keep up the great work and thanks for all you do in supporting and helping our community! I look forward to being at your next swap, and disregard what the lady up there is saying, it is just plain rude and uncalled for.
To the posting by Helisa...This news story is featuring myself...Maybe you should check correctly with what you write online regarding someone! I am not charging to teach you how to coupon. I am charging for a completely organized zippered binder with policies, menu planners, grocery lists, dividers and coupon page holders. I also provide each guest with anywhere from $25-$75 worth of actual coupons. This involves a commitment on my time and money. I would never charge for just an explanation to coupon! And to disqualify my "ETHICS" I would love too know how you came to that conclusion! WOW! I cannot believe the negativity some people have in their lives! So Glad I am a positive person :D
I do think people should use coupons but I don't think we here in Canada can coupon like in the U.S.A. I do use coupons every chance I can, even if it's .75 off apple juice. That's .75 in my pocket! I have watched that show on couponing and I think it is a bit extreme unless you are donating to food banks or charity. I encourage everybody to save as much money as they can but don't spend beyond your means, most people don't need 20 bottles of mustard!
Maybe you should investigate the links you post before you post them. There has been quite a few issues with ExtremeCouponingMom...they are a rather heartless group. Just before Christmas there was a child that went missing. His mother runs another site for freebies and samples and yes coupons too (Canada Freebies Eh!). This mother posted to her Facebook Group asking for help to locate her son. My daughter hit the "share" button and posted it to ExtremeCouponingMom's Facebook Group page with a note explaining that she was not spamming the page but trying to help a friend find her child. ExtremeCouponingMom deleted her and the post. Fortunately the boy was found thanks to someone on Facebook that had seen the post. I also posted to ExtremeCouponingMom asking why they would delete something so important as a missing child...would they not want the help if one of their children went missing....I also got deleted! Upon further discussions with quite a large number of fellow couponers we have found that to be the norm for this site not to mention they have been called out for a number of other issues! Couponing is becoming the next big thing here in Canada (my daughter coupons regularly and saves considerably) and it's a shame for CHCH to advertise sites that have no moral values when it comes to missing children. My brothers friend's child went missing a few weeks ago and when I posted to Canada Freebies Eh! she had no problems trying to help find this child (which was found also due to someone seeing the post on Facebook). Please do not support a group that ignores the safety and well being of our children. Other than that great story!!!
Before featuring someone on the news, it would be nice if you did some background work so ensure that the selected person followed store policies, and was an ethical contribution to our 'couponing society'. Your person of choice regularly takes advantage of and breaks policies for her own good, and charges people money to learn to do the same. There are many better choices out there. To people who would like to get in to couponing, please don't pay for classes. The information is free and it is out there and often more reputable than most 'teachers'. i am very disappointed in this feature.
My biggest problem with couponing is the stores (Zehr's, Shopper's, Foodland) do not allow you unlimited coupons on one particular bill. I had about $15.00 worth of coupons on a grocery sale over $100.00 and they had to get the manager to approve it first. So how come it works in the stores she visits?
I had coupons for a mouth wash that I got in Shoppers Drug Mart. The coupon was worth more than the product was on sale for. At first, they were not even going to honour the coupons. They finally relented but would not give me the overage. It would be a good idea if management took the time to train their staff in how to deal with coupons. When those coupons are redeemed the store will be getting more money than they allowed me.
I think she is doing an awesome job. I started to coupon, just before Christmas. I found a page, called Niagara Couponing on Facebook. A girl started this page to help us all out. I am going to her class on Feb 25th. she too, donates large amounts to shelters and food banks. Thanks to her page, I am learning so much. My shops haven't been huge, but being so strapped for money, and barely able to pay our bills, and buy food. Every little bit of money saved helps so much. I have started a shelf, and have got toothbrushes, floss, mouthwash and some other items totally free, and saved a lot. I think this great, and I love doing it. My hope is one day, to be able to donate too.
