Contest on to name zoo's new baby polar bear

A very cute cub was introduced to the public today.
The three month old polar bear baby made its debut at the Toronto Zoo. A contest is now underway to name the furry tyke who was born prematurely.

The male cub is one of three born on October 11th to Aurora. She rejected the cubs at birth and two of them died. To insure his survival, the little guy was given around the clock care.

Graham Crawshaw, Senior Veterinarian at the Toronto Zoo: "He was initially fed several times a day. As he grew those feedings were reduced. And he demonstrated from the start a good appetite, good growth rate and has now grown to 17 kilos."

Names for the new cub are being accepted until March 16th.

Hi CHCH! My favourite animal is a polar bear and this one shown
in the video looks so cute! It's wonderful that he survived, but his brother and/or sister didn't.. Anyways, when I saw this part of the news a few days ago, I knew I was going to go on this website, and think of a name for it. Though I do have many names for it, but don't know which to choose. I'll show some of them. Here are some names for the cute, little polar bear: Fuzzy, Coca-Cola, Ice cube, Matty, Boog, Knut, Snowflake.
That is all. I love you polar bear cub!! :)

"The truly brave are soft at heart." - Lord Byron
When watching the video, this little bear showed me that he is a survivor, through such sad circumstances he was determined to live and grow into this curious little bear. I have chosen the name Byron because to me this bear is not only brave, soft he is a fighter, strong yet soft and playful.

I thought the name Coyto would be cute for the little fellow. Baby polar bears are called Coys ( Cub of the year) and add T.O. to the end, since he lives in Toronto!

I would love to see the little guy named Borealis or "BO" for short -- his mother's name is Aurora and the ARE native to The Great White North- home of the beautiful Northern lights or Aurora Borealis!!

I wish to submit the name Oso for this darling little cub. Oso is Spanish for bear and he is "oh so" cute and lucky to have the Toronto Zoo as his home. Thanks to the dedication of the staff who helped this little guy be here to be named.
Thank you for all you have done.

When I was a child growing up in the UK a wee bear was born at the
zoo- the name eventually chosen for him was BRUMAS. This
little bear looks like a Brumas. So how about it?
