Ornge hangar

The future of the Ornge air ambulance hangar in Hamilton is in doubt...
The 31,000 square foot space has been rented from Cargojet for $50,000 a month since December 2010.
Ornge had been planning to move its air base there from Toronto Island and although construction has been delayed, it continues.
This despite word Thursday from interim CEO Ron McKerlie that the decision to move Ornge central operations is now under review.
He says he'll be taking a number of operational and cost factors into consideration before making the final decision.
In the past few weeks many members of Ornge's head office have been fired and the entire board of directors has been replaced while irregularities in the provincially funded air ambulance service are being investigated.

The move from Toronto was short-sighted and part of Mazza's empire building. Keep the Toronto base, and cancel the Oshawa base. Save tax dollars to provide life-saving services.

The Hamilton Cargojet Hangar is filled with their planes so why is Ornge renting it anyway?
