But that doesn't mean the Bulldogs will still be affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens.
Michael Andlauer told CHCH Thursday morning that the Bulldogs' affiliation agreement with Montreal runs-out at the end of next season.
And even though he's a minority owner of the Canadiens, the decision to continue that agreement is not his to make.
Andlauer didn't deny Montreal could opt to move its AHL affiliate out of Hamilton after the 2012-2013 season.
But he says Laval is not a viable option.
Andlauer noted that teams like the Hershey Bears have gone through more than a dozen NHL affiliations over the years and whether it's Montreal or not, he's committed to keeping an American Hockey League team in Hamilton.
