Newman "a wonderful mother, daughter, nurse and friend"

A church in Ancaster was packed with mourners today, for the funeral of Katherine Newman.
The 43-year-old mother of three was at the centre of last week's tragedy in Oakville. She was stabbed to death in her home, shortly before her estranged husband was shot and killed by police.

Al Sweeney spoke to some of Newman's friends at the funeral.

I do not claim to know this whole story by any means . However from my experience as verbally and mentally abused husband and father i can comment and feel it is my right to speak. For over 20 yrs of my life i experienced an unbearable marriage to someone that refused to acknowledge truth that would involve my wife accepting responsibility for anything .In turn i became the one he ended up in many ways to have appeared from the outside the one that was responsible any negative aspect of the marriage .This took place so frequently and was so evident in my life while in that relationship that i did not even realize how much it was taking place until the relationship was over. The Ontario judicial system too unfairly judges men in these situations without first finding the facts.
I was unfairly incarcerated by the Brantford Police dept. based on the words of my ex wife , as i was the one at the police station explaining an arguement that took place at my estranged wifes ho

I find it mind boggling that any person could utter something so blatently irresponsible on a public site. Shame on you Mr. Godzisz.

How could Kyle be living high on the hog, when allegedly he gave up their matrimonial home, car and savings??? He was living in a friends basement as he had no where to live. The deceaseds late wife refused access to his children because he was living in a basement apartment.

Kyle's Mother got him a mortgage and set up so he could see his children. I'm not agreeing with with what happened at all, its terrible. There is no proof of abuse or fear that she lived with whatsoever. The Deceaseds (Bunny) Father is not being very human or compassionate and is looking for excuses or someone to blame. It was a failed marriage and they ran heavy intereference by they themselves. He already admitted, she called him tree times a day. It was a control thing and they isolated Kyle from his children. How sad of a story and it took its effects ending in a tragic circumstance. Kyle did a very wrong thing and no one deserved that at all.

Kyle was not a monster or a ticking time bomb. He was a great guy and deserves some integrity as a person. It takes two tango and though she was murdered, lets be told the truth why she pushed him to the edge. There is no proof of what they are alleging about Kyle. She did marry him and have children. Trying to take his kids away from him was downright mean and unacceptable.
