In this Hot Docs 2014 Special Presentation we meet Dr. Sylvia Earle, botanist, marine biologist and oceanographer, well known for her dedication to planet Earth’s oceans and for raising awareness for the urgency of conserving them. The Mission Blue community currently includes over 50 respect ocean conservation groups and Mission Blue follows Earle through her personal mission to save our oceans and the life contained within them. She’s asking for public support to create a global network of protected marine areas (much to the tune of national parks) called Hope Spots.

The Watchlist’s Evan Arppe sat down with the subject of Mission Blue, Dr. Sylvia Earle herself, to discuss the movie and her mission.
