The Mummy

The Mummy

Even with box office draw Tom Cruise in a starring role, Universal’s The Mummy was unable to crack the number one spot when it opened this summer. It did have more success overseas though and closed with a worldwide haul of $408M. The effects heavy feature gets a 4K release and comes with more than an hour of bonus content including deleted scenes, featurettes and a commentary track by director and producer Alex Kurtzman and cast members Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis and Jake Johnson.

Indie studio A24 added another atmospheric horror to its catalogue this summer with Trey Edward Shults’ It Comes at Night. The film made $13.8M at the box office, joining the small group of film’s from the studio to cross the $10M threshold. Unfortunately the home video release comes with just a single featurette.
