Home Video & Netflix Releases // October 31

First Published:

Happy Halloween! If you’ve already finished binging on Stranger Things, Netflix has a bunch of new content for you to kick off November.

The Dark Tower

The Dark Tower

In a year where so many Stephen King adaptations found success (IT, Gerald’s Game, Mr. Mercedes), The Dark Tower was a real letdown. The star power of Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey wasn’t enough to overcome the film’s convoluted plot, which was too confusing for those unfamiliar with the book series and too far off from what die hard fans expected. The film brought in $111M worldwide on the back of a 15% Rotten Tomatoes score. Standard and 4K Blu-ray formats of the film are available, with both containing deleted scenes, a blooper reel, and five featurettes.

Kidnap

Kidnap

Kidnap is basically Taken minus the special set of skills – just a frantic mother trying to find her son. The modestly budgeted thriller earned an equally modest $32M box office return and a 35% Rotten Tomato score. The Blu-ray release is light on bonus content, with a single three minute featurette being the only extra.

Also available:
